Nigeria have slipped a second consecutive time in
2014 in the latest FIFA World ranking released on Thursday.
According to the February ranking, the Super Eagles went
down one spot to 8th position in Africa from 7th in January.
The Stephen Keshi-led side also dropped to 47th from its 41st
spot in the world last month.
Ivory Coast maintained the top spot on the continent, while
Algeria displaced Ghana in the second position. Cape Verde moved from 5th to 3rd
place, as the Black Stars, Egypt, Tunisia, and Cameroon sit in the top seven
above Nigeria.
Mali dropped from 6th to the 9th spot, while South Africa
move two steps backwards to 12th.
Spain, Germany and Argentina held on to the top three in the
world, while Portugal displaced Colombia in the 4th spot.
It would be recalled that Nigeria dropped four places in
January in the global ranking.
